Traveling To Cyprus, Europe
To some travellers getting to the republic of Cyprus, Europe is very difficult. However in all truth it really isn’t. Travelling to the Republic you can only enter through legal ports of entry. For some this idea isn’t a good one, however it is the way to get to Cyprus. These ports are Larnaka, Lemesos, and Pafos.
The easiest way to Cyprus is by airplane. Although again, there are legal ports to go by here as well. Larnaka and Pafos International Airports are the major airports for Cyprus. There are also border checkpoints at different locations in Cyprus. These are designed to keep the peace between the northern and southern regions of the island.
The northern and southern regions both agreed to this decision that various places should be open for travel. The residents know this partition as the “green line.” Currently there are five different checkpoints in different areas along the green line. These are the only checkpoints that can be used in order to travel from the northern and southern regions of Cyprus. There are supposed to be more checkpoints in different areas opening however this has been a very slow process.
However, Ecran is the main airport that flies directly to the mainland and different areas of Europe. Both airports on the island of Cyprus are affordable and reasonable going to Cyprus and going from Cyprus to the mainland. This is said to be because of the limited travel to Cyprus.
It takes about five and a half hours to fly from UK or the mainland to the Cyprus. It is definitely not considered a long air trip. And obviously it is a trip worth taking to such a beautiful island paradise.
Obviously a passport is needed, however a visa may only be required for specific situations. People of the foreign category often need a passport only. If you plan on going from the northern region of Cyprus to the southern region of Cyprus you should remember that a visa is needed. Your passport will be stamped as well. Many times you will be asked what you will be doing during your stay in Cyprus. This is only of course legality and a question that is asked to everyone.
For the most part your visit to Cyprus is obviously not going to be as big of a headache as one might think. These are only small obstacles when compared to all the luxury Cyprus has to offer. This allows the peace to be kept between the northern and southern regions and contentment in Cyprus. Many tourists and visitors don’t seem to mind the checkpoints at all. It is just a simple means of getting to the vacation place that so many love to spend time at. Additionally, the investors and buyers who are in the market for real estate and property don’t mind either. This fact is because statistically the investment benefits from Cyprus have great returns. Tourists enjoy the many different things to do on the island as well. This makes for the small inconvenience of travel to be ignored or just be a small concern in a vacation plan.
